LCD televisions are the best televisions that you can buy and now that most
are HD ready you can really enjoy the improved picture quality that HD offers.
LCD televisions are brilliant because they are so thin and sleek and so look
great in any room and with HD you have an incredible picture quality that makes
old televisions look so blurry and fuzzy that you could not bear to watch.
There are many things to look for when buying an LCD television, the main consideration is the screen size as this has the greatest effect on the price, if you want a cheap LCD television then a small LCD television is better as the large screen LCD televisions can be expensive (but very impressive!). The screen size is measured from one bottom corner to the opposite top corner and is usually measured in inches, the smallest LCD televisions are usually 15 inches with 17 and 20 inch LCD televisions also being popular with the small screens. With the large screen LCD televisions the 26, 30 and 32 inch screens are the most popular but they are not cheap, when you go over 32 inches it is generally considered better to go for a plasma screen as they are cheaper and have a better quality.
The format of the screen is also important with most small LCD televisions having a standard (square) screen format and most large screen LCD televisions having a widescreen screen format, this is because widescreen is much better for watching films on a larger screen but widescreen also costs more so is rarely used in small screen LCD televisions where the price is a more important factor.
There are also other features to look out for when buying an LCD television online, these include Freeview which allows access to digital television which has a much better quality than that of the analogue television broadcasts, has lots more channels and is also free. Getting an LCD television with Freeview built in saves you from having to buy a separate Freeview digital television tuner box so it will save you money and it will also save you space as it is all included in the LCD television.
There are also LCD televisions that are high definition ready and these are
very much worth looking out for, high definition offers a much better
picture quality than that of standard televisions and soon television
programmes, DVD's and games consoles will all use HD technology so if
you are buying a new LCD television it would be a good idea to make sure

Speakers are also an important consideration as most LCD televisions come complete with speakers but some do not, some also have detachable speakers which give a better stereo effect and some also have cool virtual surround sound which gives the surround sound effect without the need for additional speakers.
