Is your garden looking a bit bleak and uninviting? Do you need a way bring it to life without the need for expensive landscaping? Then some garden furniture might be just what you’re after.

Whether you want chairs, benches, tables, occasional furniture or complete sets, there are plenty of choices and different designs of garden furniture to pick from. Most items can be purchased in wood, metal, plastic or cast iron to fit in with your garden’s unique atmosphere and taste. Wooden designs can be supplied plain so you can add your own colour or sometimes pre-stained in the shade of your choice.



Separate chairs come in a number of shapes and sizes available with or without arm rests, including fixed leg, folding, reclining and stools. These include single chairs, loungers, relaxers and sunbeds, all available with adjustable arms and comfortable cushions for those lazy afternoons in the sun. Tables are typically round, square, oval or rectangular and often feature a central hole to allow for the compulsory parasol.

Parasols themselves are available to purchase separately or in sets with their own metal or cast iron base. Some models have telescopic poles for easy opening, closing and storage, while others can be tilted to keep the sun off your face at different times of day.

Most parasols are round, rectangular or square with fabric made from acrylic or high strength marine acrylic, depending on the size and price. Poles are wooden, plastic or metal in keeping with the overall style and design of the unit.

For those quiet spots in the garden, benches provide a focal point and a place to stop and admire your handiwork. These normally seat between two and five people comfortably and can be open or closed with vertical or horizontal bars on the back.

Garden sets usually include a table, at least four chairs and a parasol, all in matching colours and materials. Some cast iron café styles may only provide two chairs, but these can often be purchased separately at a later time as required.

To set everything off you can purchase a range of accessories such as planter boxes, magazine racks, drinks trolleys, trays, water features and decking tiles in sizes up to 20 inches square. You can also add extra atmospheric effects with garden lighting, which comes in electric, solar and candle power varieties and a number of different, earthy colours to blend discreetly among your flora and fauna.
