These are inclusive cross network packages (i.e. it doesn’t matter which network you phone or text) comprised of a fixed number of minutes (phone calls) plus text plus video plus picture or video messages.
Their biggest drawing card is offering customers ½ price line rental and free accessory packs with monthly contracts, saving you lots of money. 3 also boast 99% population coverage for voice and text services and 87% coverage for video, the largest coverage of all the major networks according to them.
3 also offer their customers the chance to transfer their entire address book to a new phone online. Other selling points include free delivery and free handset insurance if you buy from 3 directly. Some deals include cash back or free downloads when you subscribe to a monthly contract.
Most 3 phones come equipped with the usual camera and texting facilities and include a colour screen. Other features include Bluetooth wireless compatibility, built-in MP3 players, polyphonic ringtones, video messaging, email and photo messaging.
Standard styles or flip-up phones can be equipped with 3G technology for all the latest multimedia input including entertainment, news and sport information sent straight to your phone. Some features are only available as add-ons (as they call them) for a monthly fee, which usually only applies when you take out a 6 month minimum contract. So to get all the features you need to purchase certain packages with certain conditions attached.
On the other hand, the 3 network has no peak rate penalty; there are also no minimum call charges and the company imposes no extra or hidden charges for calls to other networks. If you combine this with ½ price line rental and free accessories, delivery and insurance, then it sounds like a pretty good deal. Just to make sure, you can compare it with other packages from other phone and network providers for peace of mind.
3 mobile also offers access three streaming TV on their latest handsets, which tend to be Motorola or LG models. This is comparable to Vodaphone’s mobile TV, although you need to check the coverage in your area to make sure you can get all the features that your network provides.
